About The Project
Keyframe was proud to help tell the moving story of the restoration of two of Canada's most iconic theatres.
After a highly competitive bidding process, the Keyframe team was thrilled to be selected to help Ontario Heritage Trust document the historic rebirth of the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres in downtown Toronto.
From scripts and storyboards to shooting to final production, six captivating films were created to tell the story of the theatres’ birth, decline and restoration. Through a combination of archival photographs and new Keyframe footage, a 7-minute master video told the story from beginning to end, and 5 shorter chapters were then edited to describe the theatres’ early construction, their history from vaudeville to movies and to encourage people to sign up to take the tour.
Throughout each of the videos, Ontario Heritage Trust’s role was highlighted. In the end, the people of Ontario received a stirring reminder of the importance and value of the two iconic theatres. And of course, the important role played by the Ontario Heritage Trust was reinforced for all to appreciate.
